This is a full day trip and cruise to tranquil Doubtful Sound, in the heart of the Fiordland National Park. Travel by coach to pretty Manapouri and cruise across the lake to West Arm. Visit the underground power station (occasionally this is not possible because of construction etc). Continue by coach over Wilmot Pass to Doubtful Sound for a 3 hour cruise on its tranquil waters, where bottlenose dolphins, fur seal and Fiordland crested penguins are sometimes spotted. The cruise travels the entire length of the sound and on its return, stops in Hall Arm, where the engines are switched off and you can enjoy the ‘Sound of Silence’. Return to Te Anau by the same route.
