degree view of the city, Canterbury plains and the Banks Peninsula. Then visit the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve where NZ's national icon, the kiwi, is on display alongside other flora and fauna. |

| From Christchurch travel by road to Springfield. Board the Tranz Alpine train (said to be one of the great train journeys in the world) to travel to Arthurs Pass, viewing the alpine scenery en-route. From Arthurs Pass travel by road over the rugged snow capped Southern Alps into the Arthurs Pass National Park and on to Otira Gorge where a stop will be made at the viaduct lookout, renowned for magnificent photo opportunities. Enjoy lunch at the Chalet Restaurant. Return to Christchurch by road enjoying an exhilarating jetboat ride and visit to a sheep farm. |

| Travel by coach from Christchurch to Kaikoura to join the Whale Watch Tour. Here you will see Dusky Dolphins and the giant Sperm Whales. A light aircraft option is also available. Once the tour is completed, rejoin the coach and enjoy lunch at a local café. After lunch, visit a fur seal colony followed by wine tasting at a local vineyard, before the coach journey back to Christchurch. Subject to weather conditions. |
