| Day 1: |
Christchurch-Dunedin
Tour departs the Intercity coach depot at 08.00 or a pickup from Christchurch’s central city hotels can be arranged. Travel by scheduled seat-in-coach to Dunedin – the Edinburgh of the South. On arrival in Dunedin transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of Dunedin including the historic buildings of Olverston House, Dunedin Railway Station and the Court House. |
| Day 2: |
Dunedin-Te Anau
The morning is at leisure for you to explore the city and perhaps visit historic Olveston House or the spectacular wildlife on the Otago peninsula. Depart by scheduled coach and travel through South Otago and Southland until the mountains of Fiordland come into view. Te Anau is a lovely lakeside town with stunning views. You will be dropped off at your hotel on arrival. |
| Day 3: |
Te Anau-Milford Sound-Queenstown
A thrilling day, which starts with the wonderful drive through the Eglinton and Hollyford Valleys. You’ll take the Homer Tunnel and see the awesome Cleddhau Canyon before arriving in Milford Sound, where you board the boat for a very scenic cruise. This takes you in view of mile high Mitre Peak to Bowen Falls – lunch is available at additional cost on board. At the end of the cruise continue by coach on to Queenstown for a two night stay. |
| Day 4: |
Queenstown
A day at leisure to choose your own optional activity (at additional cost). There is so much to see and do in this lakeside resort town – anything from a bungy jump to a lake cruise on a vintage steamer. You can also visit a high country sheep station, try fly fishing, take a scenic gondola trip or a thrilling jet boat ride. |
| Day 5: |
Queenstown-Mt Cook-Christchurch
Depart by scheduled coach through the Kawarau Gorge and over the Lindis Pass, from where there are great views of the hills and plains of the MacKenzie country. Clear weather may bring views of Mt Cook before you head for the Canterbury Plains and Christchurch, where the tour ends at approximately 18.30 at the airport or hotel. |
