| Why Self Drive With Us? |
 |
| Kruse Commentary System |
If ever there was a draw back to self drive touring, it is the potential for missing out on great sights simply because you weren’t aware they were there. Kruse aims to change all this. Using innovative technology, the Kruse Commentary System is an automated personal tour guide that you simply plug into the vehicle dashboard. The system then provides an informative and entertaining commentary on scenic landmarks, local history, legends, culture and natural history throughout your journey in New Zealand. Now you can have the best of both worlds – ‘independent guided touring’.
The Kruse system can be booked as an optional extra and is collected from your vehicle rental company. It is charged at a daily rate on a sliding scale according to length of hire. Minimum hire charge is 3 days.
3-6 days £5 per
day
7+ days £4 per

Motorhomes
Motorhomes are a great way of travelling around New Zealand. You can be virtually self-sufficient and totally flexible about your itinerary. During the day you can travel at your own pace and in the evening, choose between thousands of scenic locations to park up for the night. |
Pick up and drop off of vehicles
There is always a choice of pick up and drop off points with some locations having both city and airport depots. Passengers arriving at an airport will be met on arrival and taken to the rental depot. In most cases no extra charge is made for one way rentals. |
Combining North & South Islands
If your itinerary combines both North and South Islands you drop your vehicle off at the ferry terminal, take the ferry across the Cook Strait as a foot passenger and pick up another vehicle at the ferry terminal on arrival. Baggage can be checked in at the ferry terminal, meaning that you only carry your hand luggage on board. For motorhome hire you will need to take the vehicle on the ferry. |
