Cetacean Explorer

With a wide variety of whales and dolphins in the coastal waters and an abundance of unspoiled flora and fauna on land, New Zealand’s two islands are a paradise for the wildlife and nature enthusiast.

This 20 day tour incorporates the best whale and dolphin encounters available in New Zealand as well and providing a comprehensive introduction to the other natural and cultural highlights both islands have to offer.

Experience the beautiful harbour city of Auckland, the stunning Bay of Island, which year round dolphin presence makes this one of the best places in New Zealand to swim with these amazing marine mammals. Visit the white sandy beaches and rainforests of the Coromandel Peninsula and soak up the culture in Rotorua, the centre of New Zealand’s geothermal activity.

Head to the South Island, where the grandeur and variety of scenery and wildlife is simply staggering. See the sperm whales off the coast of Kaikoura and witness the world’s smallest and rarest dolphin – the Hector’s dolphin in the Banks Peninsula. You will also have an opportunity to visit Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand, plus head up the West Coast into the heart of the spectacular Southern Alps.

Tour Highlights
- Best cetacean encounters in NZ plus cultural & scenic highlights
- Five whale & dolphin watching/swimming trips included
- Overnight cruise on Milford Sound
