Arrive Christchurch
Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. |
| Day 2: |
Christchurch-Mount Cook-Queenstown (620km)
Collect your rental car and travel across the Canterbury Plains to Mount Cook. Take the opportunity for an optional scenic flight over Mount Cook’s snowfields and glaciers before continuing over the Lindis Pass and through the Kawarau Gorge to Queenstown. |
| Day 3: |
Queenstown-Milford Sound-Queenstown (600km)
Follow Lake Wakatipu via Kingston arriving in Te Anau mid morning. Continue past mirror lakes, mountains and forests and travel through the avenue of the disappearing mountain before the dramatic descent into Milford Sound. A fascinating launch cruise to Bowen Falls and Mitre Peak is included. Return to Queenstown. |
| Day 4: |
Queenstown
A full day free to explore the many exciting optional excursions available in Queenstown. Take a scenic flight, gondola ride or perhaps cruise the lake on the vintage TSS Earnslaw. Try a thrilling jetboat ride, white water rafting or even a bungy jump. |
| Day 5: |
Queenstown-West Coast Glaciers (420km)
Take a memorable trip through some of the most magnificent scenery in New Zealand. Travel via Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea and over the Haast Pass to the beech forests of Mt Aspiring National Park. |
| Day 6: |
West Coast Glaciers-Greymouth (205km)
This morning, enjoy a guided walk to a Glacier Terminal face. You may also like to take an optional scenic flight for a bird’s eye view of this spectacular terrain. Enjoy the magnificent glaciers and lush rainforests before continuing north to Greymouth. |
| Day 7: |
Greymouth/Christchurch (250km)
Visit the historic Shantytown and try panning for gold. Return your rental car and board the scenic TranzAlpine train, a journey famous for its spectacular mountain scenery as it traverses the Southern Alps through Arthur’s Pass to Christchurch. On arrival in Christchurch you will be transferred to your accommodation. |

Christchurch
A transfer to the airport is included for your departure flight. |
