Farmstays
A New Zealand Farmstay offers comfortable and homely accommodation in a choice of over 1200 beautiful rural locations throughout the country. Each farm is different but visitors can expect the same friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere at all of them. The hosts will enjoy showing you round their property, which could be anything from a backcountry sheep station or dairy farm to a fruit orchard.

A Farmstay makes a refreshing change during a hotel and motel based holiday and is a great way to get to know the New Zealanders and their way of life.
What is included?
Overnight accommodation at the farm, breakfast, a three course family dinner featuring fresh local produce, which is often grown by the hosts themselves. (Lunch available at additional cost).
Farm activities e.g. milking the cows, rounding up sheep (dependent on the farm and the time of year)
The options
Choose between the following options:
Pre-booked Farmstay with confirmed location and dates
Farmstay Pass with pre-paid open vouchers – this allows you to book your accommodation as you travel round, which gives more flexibility. Only suitable if you are travelling with your own rental vehicle.
Choice of standard or superior accommodation. Superior accommodation, where available, is en suite and offers wine with dinner
Getting to the farm
Farmstays are ideal if you are travelling with your own vehicle and guests are supplied with a map and directions to the property. For those using public transport, your hosts can pick you up from the nearest railway or bus station for a small additional charge.
Checking in and out
Check in time is 15.00 and guests are asked to check out by 10.00 in the morning.
