Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track

The Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track is a 53km circuit that winds its way inland through the south-eastern end of the Fiordland National Park. The track passes through podocarp and beech forest, past sub-alpine settings and sandstone outcrops, before returning to spectacular coastline and open beaches.
The area is rich in history for both Maori and European cultures. Highlights of the walk include unique viaducts and native New Zealand wildlife, but most memorable is the stunning scenery of the Southwest New Zealand World Heritage Area.

Practicalities
The four day trip includes transportation to and from the trail, from Tuatapere, which is less than 100 kms from both Invercargill and Te Anau. Accommodation during the trek is in huts in multi-bedded rooms – you must provide your own sleeping bag.

Trek Guides
You are accompanied by experienced guides, who are outdoor enthusiasts and knowledgeable about the local area. All guides are trained in first aid.
