Mountain Landscapes

The itinerary takes place in among the most spectacular mountains and valleys of the Southern Alps, where you spend time discovering some of the well-kept secrets of these less visited parts of New Zealand as well as those places that no-one wants to miss out on. A private minibus takes us between the different walking areas, all conveniently arranged to make best use of our time.

Hike in Arthurs Pass National Park then move on down the West Coast to the glaciers and rainforests. Fly in and hike before taking a jet boat out of Mt. Aspiring National Park, then head off on one of the most scenic valley walks in New Zealand – the awesome Hollyford Track.

Next day take a jet boat to Martin’s Bay on the wild Tasman Sea coast, with at times only the seals and penguins for company. Fly into Fiordland and for a final overnight experience on Milford Sound. All in all, we believe this to be one of the most adventurous and innovative trips of this nature on offer. With good reason, it is extremely popular.

Practicalities
All breakfasts and lunches are included from lunch on day one to lunch on day 10, and five evening meals.

The holiday is suitable for fit hikers, happy to carry a day rucksack, but no backpacking is involved. Some of the walking involves rough tracks and you will be walking up and down mountains, as well as along valleys. The morning of kayaking is in stable two-person kayaks that are easy to paddle and steer.
