| Two Great Walks, one great holiday (22 days/21 nights) |
Glorious flora and fauna are the themes for this specially prepared itinerary combining two of New Zealand’s Great Walks – the Abel Tasman & Rakiura Tracks.
Take advantage of this great package price, which includes return international flights and domestic flights and discover the spectacular scenery and wonders of the South and North Islands including the Southern Lakes and the Far North. |
The South Island of New Zealand boasts some of the most dramatically scenic areas of the country providing some exceptional walking trails.
The world famous Abel Tasman Coast Track reveals hidden estuaries, idyllic golden sand beaches, castaway islands and forested headlands, which provide a superb location for this three or five day walking trip. The route is accessible all year round, with winter days often calm, crisp and sunny. The comfortable lodge accommodation, with open fires to take off the winter chill, and variety of other activities on offer make this a popular outdoor destination at any time of year.
The sandy beaches and lush rainforest of Rakiura National Park on Stewart Island provides the setting for the second walk. The natural habitat of the kiwi this islands boasts miles and miles of coastline featuring deserted beaches and verdant bush.
As if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite fly up to Auckland and enjoy the best that Northland has to offer with a stay in beautiful Hokianga. Stretching 350km north from Auckland Northland is New Zealand’s only sub-tropical region and with its above average sunshine and glorious beaches, it is popular with locals as well as visitors. Winters are mild and citrus fruits and even bananas grow among its gentle hills and valleys. |
