| Two Great Walks, one great holiday (18 days/17 nights) |
Experience adventure and nature on this tailor-made itinerary combining two of New Zealand’s Great Walks - the Abel Tasman & Routeburn Tracks
Take advantage of this great package price, which includes return international flights and domestic flights and discover the spectacular scenery and wonders of the South and North Islands including the Southern Lakes and the Otago Peninsula. |
The South Island of New Zealand boasts some of the most dramatically scenic areas of the country providing some exceptional walking trails.
The world famous Abel Tasman Coast Track reveals hidden estuaries, idyllic golden sand beaches, castaway islands and forested headlands, which provide a superb location for this three or five day walking trip. The route is accessible all year round, with winter days often calm, crisp and sunny. The comfortable lodge accommodation, with open fires to take off the winter chill, and variety of other activities on offer make this a popular outdoor destination at any time of year.
The Routeburn Track traverses wild mountain country between the Hollyford and Dart Valleys and many claim its scenery to equal that of the better known Milford Track. Without a doubt, it is one of New Zealand’s finest walks, and its varied landscapes are typical of the region. Pass through river flats and forested valleys rich in bird life, and climb to alpine passes that can see snow, even in high summer. Spectacular mountain views, gushing waterfalls and pristine lakes are a further attraction of this popular trek, which passes through both Fiordland and Mount Aspiring National Parks. |
