Outline Itinerary

| Day 1: |
Arrive Auckland
Transfer to Aachen House for overnight stay.

| Day 2: |
Auckland-Waitomo (250km)
Collect your rental car and travel via Hamilton to Waitomo Caves for a subterranean boat ride and cave walk. Continue through the rural pastures to your farmstay, where dinner is included.

| Day 3: |
Waitomo-New Plymouth (175km)
Drive through native bush heading south through the Awakino and Mangaotaki gorges and emerge onto the Taranaki Coast. Visit the Three Sisters rock formation at Tongaporutu and discover ancient Maori rock drawings in nearby caves, before arriving in New Plymouth. Two nights at the Nice Hotel.

| Day 4: |
New Plymouth
A day to explore the sights of Taranaki. You will be taken on a half-day tour including the highlights of the Taranaki region (lunch included). The rest of the day is at leisure.

| Day 5: |
New Plymouth-Wellington (375km)
Follow the Surf Highway along the western coastline, visiting arts and crafts stores en route. Pass through Wanganui and Palmerston North before driving further south to New Zealand’s capital city Wellington. Overnight stay at Rawhiti B&B.

Wellington
A day at leisure in Wellington. Return your rental car at the city or airport depot.
