A one hour guided tour exploring the spectacular alpine panorama from the top of Mt John with the help of telescopes and binoculars. Learn about local geology and history, visit the giant MOA telescope and learn about deep space research for new planets and dark objects. If the sky is clear, look at sun spots through a special solar telescope and incredibly, then view stars and planets in the daytime! The night tours leave from Lake Tekapo Village and are 2 hours in duration. Explore the wonders of the night sky including distant planets, star clusters and the spectacular Milky Way. Learn about our place in the Universe and learn about what you are seeing through these telescopes from professional Astronomers. No hotel pick up/ drop off included.
