Lake Wakatipu on the vintage TSS Earnslaw. Disembarking
at Walter Peak, you can enjoy tea and home baking
and a wander round its lovely gardens, in full view
of the lake and mountains behind. You’ll take
a tour of the farm and see how the sheep dogs are
worked, before returning to Queenstown. |

| A tour dedicated
to showing the best of the Middle-earth scenery and
several of the specific sites used in filming “The
Fellowship of The Rings” and “The Two
Towers”. Your driver is likely to have been
involved in the making of the film. The full day
tour visits two distinctly different areas. Break
after the morning for lunch (at your own expense)
in Queenstown then meet again for the afternoon.
See The Misty Mountains, The Pillars of the Kings,
The Ford of Bruinen where you will seek elfin gold
and The Road to Mordor, the battle site of Amon Hen,
the Seat of Seeing, The Forests of Lothlorien and
the site of the Tower of Orthanc. There are no film
sets left other than the grandeur and magical atmosphere
of the scenery they were set in. |

| This five
hour experience is a half day adventure that begins
with pick up from your Queenstown accommodation followed
by a breathtaking 40 minute trip to Glenorchy, with
guided interpretation. Wet weather gear is provided
before you board the jet boat for the adventure ahead.
Weave through labyrinths of fast flowing water channels,
dart up shingle river terraces, glide into tranquil
deep rock chasms and see towering snowcapped peaks,
glaciers and waterfalls. Jet spins add adventure
and a series of stops en-route create a blend of
adventure and storytelling as you hear of early settlers
and adventures from days gone by while enjoying a
warm drink and snack. |
