| Day 1: |
Auckland
Depart 08.00 from the Langham Hotel, Auckland. Enjoy the
beautiful views of Waitemata Harbour heading north along
the Hibiscus Coast to the Bay of Islands. Visit the unique
Kauri & Pioneer Museum at Matakohe. Cross the Northland
peninsula through the breathtaking Waipoua Forest where you’ll
view the giant 77m tall Tane Mahutu kauri tree. Arrive at
the historic Waitangi Treaty House, where the 1840 treaty
between the Maori and British was signed. Enjoy a guided
tour of the Treaty House and grounds. Next 2 nights at the
beautiful beachfront Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Bay of
Islands.

Bay of Islands
Scenic FreeChoice Day: choose

Bay of Islands-Auckland
Take a morning cruise to Cape Brett Lighthouse, Piercy Island
and (weather permitting) through the famous Hole in the Rock
aboard a catamaran. Stop at a secluded bay with time for
lunch before the scenic return journey to Auckland. Overnight
at the Langham Hotel. |

Auckland-Rotorua
Visit Mt Eden the city’s landmark crater, before travelling to the
Goldfields Railway for a delightful rail journey. Enjoy morning tea as this
vintage train carries you through the upper reaches of stunning Karangahake
Gorge. Visit a working diary farm followed by a delicious roast lamb lunch.
Stroll through the towering Redwoods of Whakarewarewa Forest before continuing
on to
the thermal
region of
Rotorua. Enjoy
an
evening excursion
to the shores of Lake Rotoiti. Here visit a sacred marae and experience an
authentic Maori cultural performance. Enjoy a traditional welcome by the
Chief, the haka, and a hangi-inspired feast. Spend the next 2 nights at Novotel
Royal Lakeside Hotel.

Rotorua
Visit the Te Puia Thermal Reserve and Maori Arts and Crafts Institute where
