| Enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Taupo, which takes in the Maori Rock Carvings, historical points of interest in Whakaipo Bay and on a clear day the majestic volcanoes of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro can be seen at the Southern end of the lake. A full commentary is given on board. The scenic cruise incorporates a “bubbly brunch” on Sundays this includes a glass of bubbly along with a sumptuous brunch while the boat is nestled in a scenic bay. | The Wairakei Terraces once existed in the Waiora Valley; there are pictures of them in a publication written in 1919 called ‘Wairakei, the Wonderland’. Wairakei Terraces are a man-made creation reminiscent of the magnificent Pink and White Terraces which were destroyed in 1886 when Mt Tarawera suddenly erupted, splitting the mountain in two and covering what surely was one of the great Wonders of the world. Enjoy a walk that takes you around the terrace walkway. See live demonstrations of carving, weaving and a Maori Village. |
